Battle of the Books, Upcoming Events-March 19, 2013

Dear Sexton Mountain Families:

Saturday morning anxious parents watched while The Book Reading Bees recalled details from 16 books.  Kaiya, Haley, Lily, and Hannah won both matches.  While they didn’t make it to the state competition, they did a great job of representing our school.  Over the past six months, students have read, discussed, and quizzed in preparation for the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB).  Sixty-three battles, 150+ students, and countless hours donated by volunteers resulted in great learning.    The books selected for this competition represent a variety of genres, subject areas, plots, setting and styles so kids get to stretch themselves.  I hope our all our kids will continue to read over spring break.   There are few things better than being lost in a great story!  Thanks for sharing your kids with us!

Take Care,

Dr. Teresa Clemens-Brower
a.k.a. Mrs. C.-B.

Thank you!
