Dear Sexton Mt. Families:
I was visiting with a former student at the Carnival Friday night when suddenly he hugged me and said, “I love this school!” I know exactly how he feels. From set up to clean up and all the planning to make it happen, our amazing parents came together to create an incredibly strong community building event for our students-future, present and past! Once again, I am grateful to be surrounded by so many service-oriented people. The sixth grader’s enthusiasm about Sexton Mountain was evidenced by his smile, hug and words but the genuine care that so many of YOU exude for our students is evidenced by your service. THANK YOU!
We will celebrate our volunteers this Thursday at 2:00pm in the cafeteria. Our student body will take turns performing for guest during that time. While you are in the building, check out the work on the walls. The fifth grade memoirs are up and they are so much fun to read. Learning about their special moments over the years is touching. Enjoy!
I have been very busy with state testing over the last few weeks. I was telling teachers today that one of the things I noticed is that our students are VERY analytical and are great problem solvers. Watching a practiced mind attack a problem is a delight indeed. Strong teaching produces powerful learning! Thank you for sharing your children with us!
